Unless your a die hard Leicester fan I bet you weren't too sure who this new superstar was until he suddenly started scoring a tonne of goals. well we've all heard of him now, 11 goals in 11 games, but he still hasn't started for England for a while so where did it all start?

He was born on the 11th of January in 1987 to the name Jamie Richard Vardy and the rest is history. He currently represents Leicester and England in a central or wide striker role how did he get there then, not through an academy?

No, at the age of 16 Vardy was released by Sheffield Wednesday, but that didnt stop him, he started his senior career at Stocksbridge Park Steels in 2007. He spent three seasons there and then joined the northern Premier League (I know, I had no idea there was such a thing) side Halifax town in 2010. So while he was playing for a team in an unknown league his fellow England compatriots that he plays with now were playing in the South Africa World cup. Now look how he has caught up with them! For Halifax Town Vardy scored 27 goals in his debut season and won the clubs player of the year (a difficult task I am sure). Then he moved to the Conference Premier steam Fleetwood Town in August in the year 2011 for an undisclosed fee. in his debut season there he scored 31 league goals and helped the team to win the division and at the same time the player of the year as well. In the month of May in 2012 Jamie got a dream transfer to Leicester City who were at the time in the Championship. He cost the team 1 million pounds which was a record fee for a non-league player. He went on to represent the club in the Premier League after winning the Championship in 2014.

Next thing we know Jamie Vardy scores eleven goals in eleven games for Leicester and becomes a record breaker breaker Ruud van Nisterlrooy's record of ten goals in ten consecutive games and making his international debut.

So what next for Vardy? Well, so far this season it looks like Leicester may be able to challenge for a europa league spot so he may want to go for glory there or some larger clubs have seen this run in his form and would look to land him. Teams that are completely toothless upfront like Manchester United and Chelsea who opted to play without a striker this weekend?
